Tyler Friel: Coach Tyler comes to us as a local coach from the area. Coach Tyler attended Marmion Academy where he was a two-year varsity letterman, acquiring two regional Championships, an all-area first team honor, and two all-conference selections. While attending Marmion, Tyler was fortunate enough to be on the pitching staff of a five-person perfect game against an area rival and threw a no-hitter as well. Tyler then went on to play at North Central College as a pitcher. In his freshman year, he suffered an eye injury while pitching and though he continued on until his senior year, he noticed he was not the same and therefore had to step away from the game. Coach Friel returned back to his alma mater to help as an assistant coach at Marmion Academy from 2015-2017 and was part of the 2016 3rd place coaching staff while working on his Master's Degree. Tyler has had coaching experience with multiple age groups with Top-Pick Athletics, Bulls/Sox Academy, and most recently, Reds Baseball Academy. Coach Friel was the head coach for the Reds 2025's for the last three years and is excited to get back to his true love, molding young men to be the best versions of themselves they can be. Coach Tyler is a firm believer in repetitive arm care and having his clients understand their abilities before anything else
Alex Kielion: RHP w/ experience at C/1B - Batavia High School class of 2016 - Elmhurst University classes of 2020 (undergrad) & 2022 (grad) - 3-time captain - Top 10 in career appearances, innings, K’s - Coaching experience: 12U New Trier Bulldogs, 17U Illinois Slammers, and pitching lessons for all ages - My philosophy is emphasizing a growth mindset in each young player I work with. Regardless of where we start, we owe it to ourselves to be better than yesterday. As someone who was never considered an “overpowering” pitcher myself, I had to rely on sound mechanics, relentless accuracy, mental toughness, and a hunger to compete. As a coach, I expect the same from my players, and no feeling is more rewarding than helping them get there.
